FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

I love to eat fresh from the garden,My bro called me and ask if I would like some veggies from his garden, and as usual I said yes be right down.here on Sunny Ridge our soil is poor for gardening,He gave me some tomatoes, corn and green beans,The tomatoes were turning just a bit and that is the way I like to fry them,so this was our country supper, smoked pork chops, corn, fried green tomatoes, cukes and of course CORN BREAD,gotta have that..Well hubby ate the chop and veggies,I just ate the veggies..for the green tomatoes,I just slice, roll in flour, salt, pepper,a tiny bit of a sprinkle of splenda, and brown in a little olive oil...can't help but be good..yumm.

  1. We had fried green tomatoes earlier this week too, along with a chile beans and rice casserole and of course corn bread. :)

  2. Hot dang, looks and sounds delicious!

Andora, you'd asked at my blog...I use bug spray before I leave the house on my photo op outings. If we have chiggers, I haven't had any problems w/ them. It's the mosquitos that looooove me! We have ticks of course, too, but so far, knock-on-wood, none have hitched a ride on my person!

  3. Saw your blog from another site and I knew I would enjoy someone who uses words like "a mess of beans". I have lived outside of Atlanta for the past 25 years but was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains...Coal Miners Daughters...Still raise a garden and still do a lot of canning...
