WINTER ON OUR RIDGE
We had a snow storm to come through on Friday,It was absolutely beautiful..This pic is going out into the Big Woods..
I couldn't wait until Saturday morning to go out in the snow...
The birds were eating like there was no tomorrow on Friday..
Look at this guy peaking at me,He thought he was hiding....
And this guy ,(which is one of my most favorite)was peaking around to,He wanted me to leave so he could get to the feeder..So I did...
My mom said if I put out some corn in my back yard and the wild turkeys find it they will come back...So I did and they did...

ReplyDeleteA very Merry Christmas to you.
Sunny :)
Andora, that little snowbird looked like he was sitting in a fluffy field of cotton and the Elk...I could hardly believe my eyes, he is beautiful. Hope he doesn't do too much damage, our deer nibble on some evergreens here too. We had 37 turkey cross the yard and go into the field last week before the snow.
ReplyDeleteHave a Joyous Christmas Andora.

Snowy day here in the Black Hills, too.
ReplyDeleteI have juncos, blue jays and even wild turkeys, just like you...but, I am envious of you getting to find that spot of scarlet cardinal feathers in your snowy woods! Nothing prettier on a winter day.
Love the fence photo, and the elk of course, awesome! We don't get cardinals here in W SD, would love to see one some day. Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteAll of our snow is gone now and I am sooooo glad. Three days with no heat was three days too many for me. LOL I was really too cold to enjoy the snow. We are getting rain now but it's still very cold.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Nice photos! What a beautiful place you live in! I look forward to watching the seasons change through your blog. If you're interested, check out my blog here: http://middlewoodjournal.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The snow you got was just so beautiful! Love all of the pictures you took of the birds. I had forgotten that they had released Elk in Kentucky. I think it is gorgeous but I really wouldn't want to see one of those big things in my yard! Scary! I hope the elk doesn't wonder over the hills to West Virginia! I'm already scared of the deer at times. The way they snort at me when I'm in the yard and they want to pass through.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Angela
