It has been a while since I have posted...

It is winter and the same o same o happens most of the time..
I am not complaining mind you,I do enjoy winter..
But there is just not a whole lot of different stuff going on...

We feed the birds, squirrels, turkeys, crows and whatever else happens through..
We have had a lot of cold cold days and nights,So I have been
hibernating..

You know kinda like what the bears do,only I get up and eat..
lol...
Even though it has been colder than a frogs belly here,It hasn't stopped all the animals from coming out to find food...

Even our dogs eat more when it is cold..
The cardinals have really moved in on us,of course I don't mind since they are my favorite...

Do you see the woodpeckers head in the above picture??
He was to fast that was all I could get...
Look how pretty the feathers of the turkey are...

Hubby and I took a ride in the Rhino(are you
surprised?)It was a short trip, and all we saw was some tracks in the snow..

Deer and Grouse...Those little grouse tracks are
sooo cute...

Then in a few days the sun came out and started to melt the snow..

Shag the Cat and I took a walk in the snow.He was ready to go as always..It was still kinda cold..

But Shag the Cat was warmer than me.
Can you tell????
He wallowed around in the snow..I think he was showing off,or maybe he was just glad that I came out with him...

He is a sight!!!!!

So after the walk,Shag does what he does best....need I say more..just look at my little b
uddy's face....so sweet....

The turkeys have been coming back everyday to eat,we still put corn out for them, and the last I counted there are 8 that visit now..
They were taking advantage of the sunshine to..

And so were the birds that I have been feeding through this storm...

They were so happy for the sun to be shining that they sang all day...

Ms.Lady cardinal was wanting me to leave so she could eat some more..

The squirrels didn't come out to much during the really cold freezing days, but as soon as it warmed up out they came....

Well that is about all that is
going on on Sunny Ridge...
So until next time...Take Care all.....
The same is going on here Andora...Bluejays, Cardinals, Snowbirds, Wrens, Chickadees, Finches, Turkeys and Squirrels...but no cute Shag!!! I loved the photo of the sun at the top of the trees! Like there, the squirrels stayed in, but the birds were plentiful during the heavy snow...and full of song after the thaw!
ReplyDeleteNice series! Not much going on here either. I might have to become one of those "once-a-week" bloggers!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the nesting season !
ReplyDeleteLove visiting your place and seeing all the wildlife, and birds it's so calming and serene.
Stay warm, Spring is around the corner !
Hey Andora!
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures of all of the critters! Do they let you get that close to them or do you have a camera that zooms in really good? It is wild to see the yellow already coming out on the yellow finch this soon in the year.
Shag your cat sure is fluffy.
Hope you have a great day!

I love your bird pictures! We still don't have any bluejays, I'm worried about them, we always have bluejays!
ReplyDeleteAlways love your pictures and wish we had a little snow. Shag is darling, maybe he was trying to make a cat snow angel.
ReplyDeleteVery dismal, grey, colorless here, UGH! I am so jealous of your cardinals, I've never seen them before! (That I recall anyway.) Nice shots of the feeder visitors!
