Unlikely Visitor

Hubby and I have had one busy year,,things are finally slowing down, looking so forward to sitting by the fire this winter,,I love all the seasons and I try my best to enjoy them all..
As you know we have a lot of different wildlife that visits our yard almost daily because we live out in the woods,,One morning I go out to feed my Boxer dogs(we have 3)and I heard something up in the rafters in the out building where I keep my dogs food,I looked up and there was this grouse. She had roost there for the night, hubby said it was a female because she didn't have the puffed up feathers on her head like the male does..but I was thinking of all things here is this beautiful grouse for me to see and snap a shot or two..hubby said she would look so good all golden brown,,I said NO WAY,,,but he was just kidding,,He knows the yard and the land around the yard is off limits because that is my space...isn't she pretty though???When it starts getting cooler you start to see all kinds of these little woolly boogers everywhere, they are really cute to as long as they don't get on me..
well you all take care and get out there and enjoy your fall...it is magnificent!!!!

  1. I LOVE fall in Kentucky! It's breathtaking! Ok, not so much this year with the drought and all.
I agree with you, this grouse is beautiful!
They always say the male birds are the prettiest, but I love them all!
    Happy Fall Ya'll !!

  2. Very beautiful header, Andora and cute visitor!
Speaking of visitors, I caught just a glimpse of something with coal black fur, but bigger than a skunk or raccoon, as it disappeared behind honeysuckle bushes across the ravine.
    It left me curious.

  3. Hi Andora.

I love your pictures. And although I don't live in Kentucky ( I live in Northeastern PA) we have many furry creatures that visit us here. I need to keep a camera on hand so I can snap some pictures as well. From one country girl to another, thank you so much for the lovely inspiration.

  12. What a nice surprise to come upon. Those little wooly boogers can stay away from me, though. I don't think I've seen a solid white one like that before.
