Look what the cat dragged in!!

Hope everyone is enjoying these cooler tempts,I know I am,But I am gonna miss summer..
If you read my blog from time to time you know I love my cat Shag,He follows me everywhere I go on the property..I was behind my house where my shop is and I seen him looking sneakely(is that a word?)under the building,so I thought ok he sees a mouse,so go get it Shag!!!so sometime later I see him in the yard playing with what he caught,so I go to investigate... This is what he was playing with,I held Shag back and touched it's back,I saw it was just a baby chipmunk(or as we call them a ground squirrel)I picked it up and Shag had not hurt it..
It was really scared,

It was the cutest little thing,I knew there was a den of them under the old building,so I caught Shag not looking and I took it back..

In a little while he had something again and it was the little chipmunk again,I think it was the same one..

So anyways I put Shag in the building for a while, and took the little chipmunk back under the building.I left Shag in the building long enough that the chipmunk found it's way back to the hole in the ground..I know cats do what they do,but sometimes we have to help out the little critters they catch,it just wasn't meant for this little guy to go yet...I love nature and I live in a place that has an abundance of different kinds of critters...so until next time...have a great week and have it all week long!!!!!

enjoy your fall wherever you live!!!!!

  9. Oh my, that is the cutest little thing ever. We had a similar experience recently with a baby squirrel. If you want to check it out--it's called "Farm Council Saves Squirrel." Good for you saving that precious little chipmunk :)
