Hubby and I worked outside today getting things done up before winter..
I told him I think I will build me a fire in the wood burner..He just laughs at me...But I was really cold...So after he leaves for work in the evening..
I just trotted myself to the wood pile with my trusty wheelbarrow and got myself some wood.....AND.....
I don't like to use the furnace unless I have to,you know if you have free wood and a stove..no sense in throwing those dollars out the door..
Just a small fire to knock the chill out of the air..I do love fall but I wasn't expecting it to be this chilly this soon...
My mom and dad live about ten miles from me and she said it was a high of 52 at her house today,so no wonder I needed a fire, she had one built to..Take care all....

No...I had never heard whomp biscuits before, but of course I know what they are. It's cold here today too in Ohio. We haven't had a fire yet, but we're stocked and ready. You make me want to fix apples tomorrow Andora!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall,
Wanda
Our week has started with chilly mornings too! I love the fresh crisp air after a summer. Your fire looks so inviting. We replaced our log burning fireplace with gas logs and sometimes I miss that real fire. But I can just go outside and round up some fallen limbs and have one outside, but can't bring the comfy chair out there!
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind in my blog reading! Your biscuits and apples are making my mouth water. My husband and I will be cleaning up the veggie garden and raking this weekend. It's hard to believe that October is here already!
ReplyDeleteSunny :)
Don't ya love fried apples..especially from your own trees? mmmmm
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how chilly it's gotten so quickly. Biscuits and apples. Yummy yummy in my tummy. I like your little note "my favorite season is finally here" Hugs
ReplyDeleteI never heard of whomp biscuits, either...but, yes, I know what they are. :):) They ARE pretty tasty. Your fried apples look incredible. Your pics are so awesome, I can almost taste them. I love, love, love the fire. There is something just so comforting about sitting in front of a crackling fire, book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. Ahhhh. Life is good.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like one tasty combination!
ReplyDeleteI love fried apples and biscuits and a warm fire!
ReplyDeleteHow funny, whomp biscuits, my grandkids will love that name. This is my first visit to your web page...VERY nice.
