Spring is Springing

It has been really nice and warm here in Eastern Ky.but today it is cold again..I am so ready for spring..I think this guy is the Eastern Bluebird,He goes and checks out places to nest and then brings his sweetie back to see if it is to her liking...I like that...I love hearing all the birds that are singing around our place right now..when that happens you know Spring has sprung..
We have quite a few bluebird boxes up around our property, not suppose to put them to close to one another though...they don't like neighbors....kinda like me...just kidding.. My hyacinths are up and you can see the buds down in there..when they bloom it is a most awesome smell..God knew we would like that smell....

The tulips are almost ready to pop..This picture was taken at night...can you tell??
Can you see the gray fuzzy thing in the picture??that is Shag the Cat's tail..he just had to get in there to..
Here in Ky.we call these Easter flowers..well most of us do...But the proper name I suppose is daffodils...But I like Easter flowers better,It has been that ever since I can remember..

It has been raining mixed with snow here today, but I do think warmer weather is on it's way...at least I really hope so...
Take care all and I hope you have something getting ready to bloom where you are!!!!

  1. You have bluebirds! Lucky you. I had them in my garden at my last house, but I moved 9 miles away and there aren't any here. But we have wild turkeys here. :) But I druther have the blues. The bluebirds and cardinals make for a colorful backyard, don't they! Your flowers will be so pretty when they open. Enjoy!

  2. Your views of Spring are similar to mine, Andora. Bluebirds and Daffodils are the first thing I think of when March arrives. We have nesting boxes for them too and have seen many little families successfully produced. I love the quiet chattering they do. Shag makes me wish for a cat, I enjoy your photos of him too!

  3. Isn't that cute how the male Bluebird checks out the house first? I have been watching that happen here too. I love your photos of Him! Also the promise of spring with all the flowers coming up. My daffodils are in full bloom right now.

  4. Yes, spring is springing! I love the smell of sweet flowers and I think I saw a bluebird the other day. It zoomed by so fast, but it was very blue.

  8. Your spring sprang up before ours did, that is for sure! I can see daffodil buds, but they are still a bit shy. Weather guy predicts temps in the 70s on Monday and Tuesday, so maybe that will hurry along the wildflowers for Jann and me.
