This is the first time that I have had a bear in my yard,,,yes I said my yard...I stepped out on the back porch and there he was just pretty as you please...I stopped in my tracks and when I got over the shock of him being there I went and got the ole trusty camera and got a few shots..
I usually fall asleep on my swing on the porch and sleep for a while, but I think I will be careful about doing that again...
And the very next day we had three of these bull elk in the driveway headed for the yard,so I ran them off, they are very beautiful but they destroy our fruit trees and everything else they get a hold of...and our fruit trees have lots of fruit this year and we are the ones that want to eat it this time...they got it all last year so it is our turn...
They have velvet horns right now and the horns aren't through growing yet..they really get huge by the time they fall off in march of next year...
I have been very busy this spring,we have been doing so many projects, landscaping, planting a lot of flowers and shrubs, redoing some of the house, and planning my oldest sons wedding..and then my youngest son called me and said mom I wanna get married before I deploy to Afghanistan in July..so now we are planning another wedding this one within a month...But we will get it done..I hope...no really it will all work out...until next time...hope all has a wonderful long weekend...
Wow what a lovely photo of the bear, but I dont really think I would want one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely blog, good luck with the weddings.
The lovely happenings of life, both in nature and with your wonderful sons!
ReplyDeleteYour header photo is so impressive, Andora and it's nice that you take the time to "really" smell your beautiful roses!
We fight for our fruit too and will try to keep the squirrels from my tomatoes this year! Wish us luck as I will you!

Wonderful photos. Seeing that Bear would have scared me. I have a healthy respect for those things! Nice camera work, and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe had a bear in our yard a good 10 years ago. Scared me to death! The bear didn't stay around long and ran up in the woods once it knew we seen it. It was only 5 feet from our front porch. I didn't get any pictures of him. The one in our yard had been tagged.
ReplyDeleteThe bear that came to your house is just gorgeous but I wouldn't want him that close to my house either! I really hope the Elk don't venture down my way in West Virginia. The deer are bad enough. I love seeing them though. They are magnificient creatures.
Congratulations on both of your sons getting married soon! I wish them luck. May the Lord protect your son while he is in Afganistan.
Have a Wonderful Weekend!

I think I'd be taking those naps indoors now.
ReplyDeleteThey sure are awesome to watch but from a safe distance.
We'll be seeing enough of those bears when we go camping in the Smokies in June, don't need to have them in the yard too. We do have the occasional deer or coyote though.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you had a bear in your yard. I've never seen one in the wild, but have always wanted to. Congratulations on the weddings!
ReplyDeleteLove the great photos .... The bear photo is AMAZING! Bears are about the only thing we have not SEEN here yet ... Kinda hope we never do ... I'd be happy just looking at your photos! Take care of yourself!

It is scarey that the bear didn`t seem to fear you.Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI will pray for your family & that God will wrap protective arms around your sons when they deploy. It can`t be easy for you to see them marry then go away, hugs, phylliso
Great pictures! You live in a beautiful place but that bear...I would be terrified! We have black bear in our woods but I've never seen one. Mostly deer that eat EVERYTHING! Thanks so much for visiting GrannyMountain...
